Singha Durbar

Tourism is a major contributing sector in the economy of Nepal and its capital, Kathmandu. The Government of Nepal earns huge revenue throughout the year because millions of tourists from all over the world come here, especially in Kathmandu. Kathmandu and Kathmandu Valley is a nice place to visit and it offers a large number of tourists. For its abundance of natural resources and an excellent location, Kathmandu offers the beauty of breathtaking scenery to people who are the great view of the valleys and colorful, of course, the Himalayan peaks. In addition, rivers in Kathmandu are also wonderful. Beyond that, you can also spend your time playing casino in a few major hotels in the city .You may or opt for a great shopping experience. However, tourism in Kathmandu is not at all limited in these small boundaries. The historical and religious monuments, specimens of ancient art, crafts and architecture, cultural traditions, cultural traditions of the country's population and the old buildings are the most popular tourist destinations in Kathmandu and remain thickly crowded almost all year. The Singha Durbar, Kathmandu is one of those old building which is very famous as a tourist attraction.

Located in the northern part of Kathmandu or the Kathmandu Valley, Singha Durbar is actually a palace which was built in the year 1903 by Chandra Shamsher Rana, the Prime Minister of Nepal as his residential complex. Even at that time the cost of construction Singha Durbar rose to 2.5 million rupees and construction of this magnificent palace was completed in a record time of only one year.

The exterior and interior decoration of Singha Durbar echoes traditional architecture in Europe and furniture. All rooms in Singha Durbar are decorated with stuffed animals and as a result will look like a museum of natural history. Apart from that there is a large courtroom glittered with lights and you get to see a distortion mirror, which was brought to England by Jung Bahadur.

At present, Singha Durbar is the official seat of Government of Nepal and houses two houses of Parliament, the House of Representatives and the House of States.
